Bathing

As for bathing, we showering our Debbie twice a year. It's work for all afternoon, but the result is a beautiful snow-white bear. I won't lie to you, the beautiful white won't last forever, but it will definitely last for a while. It is generally said that Bernese people love water, but the truth is that it is different for each individual. Our Debbie, when we were with her by the sea, kept bathing. She can also enter the pond with us, but it is impossible to say that she would explicitly swim. Rather, she steps into the water and lets herself cool.

Feeding

If you don't know yet, I'll tell you a secret. Bernese mountain dog eats everything. Of course, take it with a grain of salt, I mean that the Bernese tend to pretend that haven´t eaten so they can be given a little more(even if they aleady eaten a proper bowl of granules before). And you can´t be seduced by that! We feed Debbie twice a day with Acana granules, sometimes when there is an obedient need for a walk she gets a small snack. But again, the rule applies, everyones appetit is different. We also tried a few granule brands before we realized that Acana was the real thing.

Training

Debbie and I trained when she was a puppy. We taught her the basic commands and then "packed" others on it. From the beginning, we also went to see the trainer regularly. At the training camp, the dog not only learns a lot, but also gets to know other dogs and this is just as important for education. But you also have to reckon with the fact that Bernese Mountain Dogs have their heads and sometimes they are pretty stubborn. But the truth is, it will make up for it by how much fun it is with them. And you won't even remember that they didn't listen to you sometimes.
